Bone Broth
Bone broth stored in mason jars
Have you ever made your own bone broth? It’s so good for you! I make it to balance my hormones, blood sugar and gut health.
Here’s my easy method to get the most out of your turkey or chicken carcass:
Pour some olive oil in a crock pot, put in your carcass and then chopped up veggies - garlic, onions, carrots, celery, an orange peel and top it off with herbs.
Next add sea salt, paprika, pepper, (whatever seasoning you like), bay leaves, and apple cider vinegar. Finally pour in water all the way to the top of your crock pot.
Let it cook for about 6-7 hours.
Once done, let it cool and take the large chunks of veggies and bones out. Strain the rest. You can store the bone broth into mason jars and keep in the fridge for 7 days. Enjoy with soups, homemade beans, chilis or drink alone.
